Autumn News letter

This week is our last week of the half term, we break up on Friday 21^st October and return on Monday 31^stOctober.  It has been a pleasure to meet all the new families who have joined pre-school this term, and see how well the children settled in and started their learning journey.

 

If your child is unwell or not attending pre-school for any other reason, please call pre school on 01773 607885 on the first morning of absence, as this is a safeguarding requirement. 

 

Can we please, remind you to write your child’s name in all jumpers, coats and bags as it is very confusing, when other children have the same.

 

Don’t forget you still have time to book your slot for our Christmas photograph session.

Our AGM took place on Thursday 29^th September. We would like to thank Martin Dye, Rachel Felix and Lindsay Wharton – Howett, for staying on as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. A big thank to our other committee members who have volunteered to stay on. We are delighted to welcome Alex Morley and Richard Watson who have joined the committee this year. We really appreciate all their hard work!

 

After half term we will be able to share the details of our Santa on the farm, fundraising event on Saturday 3^rdDecember. In the meantime, if you have any unwanted gifts, eg. toiletries sets, toys or children’s books we would be very grateful to receive them in preparation for our Santa on the Farm event.

 

For families with older children at pre-school, you can apply for a school place from November 7^th until 15^thJanuary 2023.

Car Parking

Please, do not park in front of people’s drives when bringing your child to Pre-School.  We have had a complaint from one of our neighbours.

The safety of our children is paramount so please do not park on the road across the front of the building, particularly at dropping off or picking up time.  Also there is no parking at the front of the building as this is reserved for staff. 

                                               Open Day Saturday 6^th May

10.30am – 12.00pm

We will be having an Open Day to give families already at Pre School, families who are thinking of sending their child to us, and people in the community a chance to come and see what we have to offer. Everyone is welcome!

Sponsored Adventure Course Monday 8^th May

The sponsored Adventure Course will take place in session; your child will be bringing home a sponsor sheet. Please help us to raise funds to enable us to buy new toys for Pre School.

 The children always enjoy doing this event and it’s a great way to raise funds for Pre School.

                                                    Pre School Outing to Wheelgate

The summer outing this year will be to Wheelgate on Wednesday 28^nd June. The coach will leave Pre School at 9.30am and return for 3.00pm in order for parents to collect children from school. You will receive a letter after the holiday, please return the slip to secure your place. Staff do not go on the outing, this is for children and their families

Christmas Fair

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped organise, donated or attended the Christmas Fayre.  It was a great success and we raised £628.00 towards enhancing our outdoor classroom.

Thank you to the following for their support Midland Railway Centre, Crich Tramway Museum, Coop, Ritz Cinema Belper, Sainsbury’s, Chatsworth farm, Matlock park Farm, Denby Pottery The Pottery and tearooms Alfreton, Tesco, Wilkinson’s, Avante Garde, Thorntons, Leabrooks Fish Bar and Margaret’s Florist’s. 

Welcome to all of our new starters

We wish you all a big warm welcome and hope your child enjoys the start of their education with us.  If you have any concerns please speak to a member of staff.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure that your children’s clothes are clearly labelled with their full name.

Should we get any snow, please make sure your child has shoes to change into.

As the weather is now turning cooler, please make sure your child has appropriate clothing for going outdoors while at Pre School.

Christmas Concert & Tempest

Thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas concert, it was lovely for the children to join together to celebrate Christmas. Thank you to everyone who gave generously to the bucket shake we collected £141.73. We also raised £111.13 from the commission for school photographs, thank you to everyone who purchased photographs. This money will go towards the outdoor classroom.

Please take care when opening car doors, as the pavements are narrow and small children can easily get hurt.
